PATTERN

Where's Yeti is a print-and-repeat pattern project overseen by Marie Redina. Where's Yeti is a set of 3 patterns focusing on a fun mountain Yeti on his many cheeky adventures.

Brief

Design a collection of patterns that can be used across multiple products. The pattern should repeat itself, should appear seamless, and be hard to see the repeat.

Tutor

This Brief was created and overseen by Marie Redina, pattern and print designer for brands such as Fat Face and Patagonia.

Concept & Development

Inspired by the mountains, fun and exploration, my pattern concept centred around a character called “Yeti”. After creating the first pattern I thought the concept could work well as a set so I developed it into 3 versions of Yeti which can work as stand-alone prints, or together as a set.

The first design is simple with a playful cheeky touch of an overlapping Yeti nose.

The second is more abstract using triangles and lines to represent mountains and Yeti hiding behind them.

The final is more fun and creative, again using an illustrative mountain scene of mountains pulling different faces as well as multiple Yetis to create an exciting ‘Where's Wally?’ feel that is fun and engaging.
